No ICs are used in the audio path, only transistors and passive circuitry to best preserve the tonality and dynamics of your guitar.

Saxon is a JFET based overdrive that precisely recreates the sound of a '69 Super Lead (Bright Channel) and a mid '60s JTM45 (Bright Channel), faithfully reproducing a wide range of classic tones from AC/DC to Van Halen. With its highly versatile controls, Saxon is also capable of replicating the sound of a Super Reverb, simply set the Bass Switch to JTM45, lower the Middle to 9 o'clock and raise the Treble to 3 o'clock. The amazing dynamic range comes courtesy of the internal 9V to 25V conversion, providing enough headroom for beautiful cleans to touch sensitive overdrive with a simple turn of your volume control.

The Bass Switch lowers the amount of bass at the preamp stage, closely matching the Bright Channel of a '69 Super Lead. The Bright Switch duplicates the sound of a JTM45 100pF bright cap, providing spot on Hendrix clean tones, think 'The Wind Cries Mary'.

The Presence control allows you to lower the brightness of the pedal to suit your set-up. The first internal DIP switch affects the Presence control and toggles between cutting only the high frequencies in the 'MARSHALL' position, or the high and upper mid frequencies in the 'FENDER' position. The second DIP switch affects the amount of bass cut at the output and toggles between cutting 3dB in the 'AMP' position, or leaving the bass untouched in the 'DI' position. It's best to experiment with these controls to tailor the pedal to your amp, but here are some suggested settings that should work well:

Fender BF/SF: DIP Switch 1 [FENDER] DIP Switch 2 [AMP]
JTM45: DIP Switch 1 [MARSHALL] DIP Switch 2 [AMP]
Plexi: DIP Switch 1 [FENDER] DIP Switch 2 [DI]
Vox: DIP Switch 1 [MARSHALL] DIP Switch 2 [DI]

Saxon can also be used DI or into the Effects Loop Return, just set the Presence control fully clockwise and the second internal DIP switch to 'DI' for a neutral frequency response.

The white dots (position markers) on the enclosure indicate the correct setting to achieve a neutral or flat EQ.
